Meet Dr Luu

 

Coming from a large family, and being a father of two young children, I know how valuable loved ones are. I understand how important it is that they are taken care of, and that they are in good hands. My hope is to make you smile and feel like part of a family here. Dr. Long Luu has dedicated himself to providing our community with the best in orthodontic care, and is proud to share his qualifications with you. Dr. Luu grew up in Union City, CA and graduated from James Logan High School. He received both his Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences and his Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at the University of California at Irvine. After finishing his undergraduate education, Dr. Luu continued his studies at New York University where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He then advanced on at New York University to specialize in Orthodontics. Dr. Luu completed his post-graduate specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at New York University. In completing his training at New York University, Dr. Luu achieved numerous awards and honors as well as co-authored articles in dental journals. After his extensive education, Dr. Luu underwent the vigorous process to become a board certified orthodontist. He recently presented a series of his completed cases to a panel of expert orthodontists of the American Board Orthodontists to recertify his achievement.

Dr. Luu is a  Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He is also a member of the Southern Alameda County Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontist. His goal is to provide the highest quality of care and up-to-date treatment for his patients. Dr. Luu continues to challenge himself by reading current literature in Orthodontics and taking part in pursuing continuing education courses.

When he is not straightening teeth and creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Luu enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Luu is married to his wife Nicole. They have two young children, Brayden 6 and Caitlyn 4. After leaving New York City, Dr. Luu had spent two years in Santa Rosa, CA where he practiced and served the residents of Sonoma County. However, having grown up in the Bay Area, Dr. Luu always felt drawn to come back to his hometown. He is happy and excited to be back in Union City where he is able to take part in seeing changes in his community one smile at a time.
